The Islands of Tahiti Recognized as “Best Beach Destination for Romantic Vacation” from TravelAge West Magazine
June 10 2014

The Islands of Tahiti were recently honored with a 2014 WAVE Award as “Best Beach Destination for a Romantic Vacation” in the TravelAge West WAVE (Western Agents’ Votes of Excellence) Awards.

More than 150 companies, individuals and destinations were celebrated by the readers of TravelAge West in the WAVE Awards. Honorees were recognized in 62 categories that spanned the cruise, tour operator, airline, rail, car rental, travel insurance, hotel and resort and destination travel fields. The awards gave travel agents in the Western U.S. the opportunity to recognize the outstanding qualities and services of their travel supplier partners.

“We thank the editors and readers of TravelAge West for this prestigious recognition. From a luxurious overwater bungalow on a turquoise lagoon or a secluded in a garden bungalow with a private plunge pool – there is something romantic and perfect for everyone. And when not indulging in pure relaxation, there is snorkeling, diving, sailing, surfing, jet-skiing, hiking and much more to fuel the adventurous spirit.  There is no better place to celebrate a new life together, an anniversary or simply to escape to a beautiful paradise,” said Jonathan Reap, Managing Director, Tahiti Tourisme North America.  “We also congratulate all of our travel partners that were nominated in the 2014 WAVE Awards.”

Travel agent professionals throughout the 14 Western states and readers of TravelAge West were invited to vote on the best-of-the-best from a list of Editor’s Pick award recipients that were chosen after careful review by Editor-in-Chief Ken Shapiro and the editorial team of TravelAge West.  Review methods included product analysis, on-site visits, a survey of a select group of travel agents and online research.

“As the top travel trade publication in the West, it’s important that TravelAge West acknowledge the suppliers that go above and beyond for travel agents,” said Shapiro. “These awards are a lot of work for our staff, but we remain committed to doing whatever it takes to honor the travel companies that lead the way.”
